The perfect beach? Honestly if you want a beach to yourself (or almost) Mantanani Island is the place to be. The island is popular for certain nationalities and they just happen to be from a country that doesn't swim solo or sunbath a lot.

The beaches are practically empty so you'll a peaceful time here.

There is nothing I love more than photographing sunsets and sunrises.

I actually set up this shot because there was a cat on the seats, but he ran away before I hit the shutter.

Despite the busyness of meal times, the resort side of island felt absolutely deserted everywhere else. I think we met two people in our 30 min walk down the beach 🌊🏖️

First picture from my amazing Borneo trip. I know I'm always late in posting pictures, but I'm consistently late - key word consistent 😅

I originally wanted to spend my time on the other side of Sabah but decided to stay on the Kota Kinabalu side for proximity sake.
I had heard a lot of complaining about the islands near Kota Kinabalu online so wasn't sure what to expect.
We chose to stay on Mantanani at a pretty resort and we were greeted with clear waters, peace and quite on the beaches and beautiful sunsets.

Had such a great time on this island and the staff were lovely. Stay tuned for more beach pictures, the ocean was crystal clear 😍
