Welcome to my blog and this page is the best place to start.
Whether you’ve traveled loads or if its your first trip, you’ll find some of the below sections helpful.
You’ll find easy pathways below to my photography & video tips, a snazzy photo menu to every destination on this site, and a short version of my recommendations on what to buy and where to book.
Recommendations
Travel Gear

Cameras: I recommend Sony and Nikon as I have both brands and like them both for different reasons.
My Nikon gives the best colours and my Sony is great for video and night photography. I recommend trying an entry DSLR (nikon) or entry level mirrorless (Sony).
And ofcourse, Go Pro for underwater videos and photos. I don’t use mine that much so I have an older Hero 5, but it still works well 8(ish?) years later.
Luggage Weights: I love luggage weights for helping me stay under the weight limits. You can get them super cheap on Amazon and it helps you avoid overweight baggage fees.
Backpacks & Suitcases: I prefer to buy these in person at stores. I got my suitcase from Strandbags .
Okay, okay. My mum got me it for christmas but I picked it out.
I think its important to see things like this in person, and especially with backpacks, its important to try them on.
Where to Buy / Book

Flights: I use mostly Skyscanner to find cheap flights, although I do use Google flights every now and then as it normally has some good options.
Hotels: I use Booking.com as I like the way it gives you the overall price and I normally see the best prices there. Plus they have a membership tier and you get real good discounts (I’ve had hotel receptionists comment on how little I paid more than once on check in).
Travel Insurance: I used to use World Nomads all the time but now I will shop around for the best price / coverage. Sometimes that’s at World Nomads and other times I’ve used Covermore.
Other items: A lot of the smaller bits and pieces I order off Amazon, unless if its snorkeling / scuba gear then I prefer to buy in store.
Tours: If I’m planning a shorter trip, like 2-3 weeks I prefer to book my must-do tours in advance. For those I use Viator and Get Your Guide – I’ll look at both and choose the best option.
If I’m on a longer trip without a set plan, I’ll book in person a day or a few days before. This is a bit riskier as sometimes you might miss out or have to use a less popular company but its normally fine.
